Wellness Wednesday is back at it again with more tips and tricks to live your healthiest life! Life is too short to not feel good.
Start the day with a big glass of water before you eat or drink anything else. Our bodies are usually dehydrated when we wake up, since we hadn't drank anything for eight hours. By making water the first thing your body absorbs, you are able to help jump start all your systems and maximize hydration.
Practice self love. Every day, take a minute to tell yourself three things you like about yourself that day. Whether it's "I like my hair", "I like the way you fixed the wifi", or "I like the way you took charge in the work meeting earlier", it's important to compliment yourself.
Have an aromatherapy moment. Drip some essential oil in your shower (where the water won't hit it- on the wall or somewhere similar) before you get in. The steam mixed with the essential oil will make you feel like you're at a luxe spa, when you're just in your shower! Our favorites are lavender to relax, eucalyptus to clear, peppermint to invigorate, and lemon to energize. You can get essential oils from Whole Foods, Sprouts, Target, Amazon, etc.
Introduce pink salt into your diet. Unlike iodized salt, pink salt is mineral rich, and helps regulate water content. It's also super pretty. It's a super easy swap!
This is going to sound so weird but- brush your teeth with your non- dominant hand. People are often too strong when brushing teeth, which can result in enamel damage and a receding gum line. By switching to your non dominant hand, you automatically use less pressure, which is better for teeth, but you also stimulate your brain. Interestingly, each half of the brain controls the opposite half of your body. By continuing to be single hand dominant, we are truly only "working" one half of our brain. By introducing tasks to the non dominant side, we are able to make new connections and improve both sides of the brain, which gives you better function and performance!
